  Short story (well, not so short!) about not giving up - hope it will give some of you inspiration.

  短故事(嗯,不太短!)关于不放弃 - 希望它能给你们一些灵感。

  I worked in hi-tech for 25 years, and at the difficult age of 47 I lost my job. The next 8 years I spent opening and then closing all sorts of businesses, most of them losing me more money than they made.

  我在高科技行业工作了25年,在47岁的困难时期失业了。在接下来的8年里,我花了很多时间开了一家又一家的公司,大多数亏的比赚的多。

  4.5 years ago (at age 55) I discovered Amazon. I started by selling text books, but since I live outside the US, shipping is very expensive. I then moved to OA which was fun and my first Q4 (2016) was great. However, not having a US bank account, credit card or paypal, I couldn't buy from many potential OA sources.

  4.5年前(55岁)我发现了亚马逊。我一开始是靠卖课本起家的,但由于我住在美国以外的地方,所以运费很贵。然后我转向办公室用品,这很有趣,我的第一个Q4(2016)很好。然而,由于没有美国银行账户、信用卡或贝宝,我无法从许多潜在的OA渠道购买。

  Next I went with PL, and my first 2 products went nowhere, and in the end I had to trash them - more money down the drain.

  In April 2018 I went to the Canton Fair, on the lookout for my next PL product. Instead I found a wholesale product that I fell in love with. My gut just told me it was going to do well. Fast forward to November 2019, and I'm still stuck with half the stock from the fair, and about $3K in the bank from 11 months of sales. Still not willing to give up I was recommended someone who could help me sell my stock and recoup some of my money, so that I could continue my search. We started on the 11th of December. The result was my first $10K month, achieved in less than 2 weeks of sales!!

  2018年4月,我去广交会,寻找我的下一个庭院草坪类产品。没想到,我找到了一个我喜欢的批发产品。我的直觉告诉我它会做得很好。很快到了2019年11月了,我在交易会上买来的库存仍有一半卖不出去,11个月的销售只拿到大约3千美元的银行存款。我还是不愿意放弃,有人推荐给我一个人,能销售掉库存,收回了一部分钱,这样我可以继续寻找产品。我们从12月11日开始。结果是我实现了第一个销售1万美元的月份,而且是不到两周销售就达成了!!

  And the picture below is my new shipment of products (97 cartons!) that are leaving China for Amazon, before the Chinese New Year.

  如果论亚马逊销售收入,跨境屋的大部分粉丝都比励志姐做得更好。但正如她强调,不放弃的精神,是最重要的。年近50失业,重新选择事业,试错,重启,这样的勇气难能可贵。

  新的一年,不论我们的出身、经历、挫败、成就,愿所有人都有勇气面对这次突如其来的疫情,面对生活和事业中的困难挫折,愿不放弃不屈服的精神常伴心中,帮助我们度过生命中的起起伏伏!
